Surfpiercer Activity Guide (Summertime Odyssey)
After reaching the Golden Apple Archipelago in version 2.8, you will have several things to do. One of them is good old-fashioned exploration to find Phantasmal Conches so you can unlock Fischl’s alternate costume. The other, at least for now, is the Surfpiercer activity, which involves your Waverider. here is our Genshin Impact guide to help you with the Surfpiercer activity in the Summertime Odyssey event in version 2.8.

Genshin Impact Surfpiercer Activity Guide (Summertime Odyssey)
Additional activities in the Golden Apple archipelago will be available in the coming days. For now, we will only focus on the Surfpiercer activity in Genshin Impact. Basically, you’ll cruise the Waverider to reach the finish line as quickly as possible. There doesn’t appear to be any combat mechanics yet, so it’s mostly navigation and speed boosting.
Here’s the gist:
- You can collect green particles by walking through them or by using the Coalesce action (“E” key). The Coalesce action has a pretty decent radius, so you’ll want to use it if the particles are clustered together or higher in the air.
- Collecting enough fills your Surfpiercer Surge meter (up to three charges). Each charge gives your vehicle a massive speed boost, as well as the means to destroy smaller/thinner obstacles (e.g. wooden fences and barricades).
- Near the finish line you may notice wind currents/rings. You’ll need to hold down the spacebar to jump off the Waverider so you can glide through the current.
- As of now, the time limits for rewards are 140 seconds and 260 seconds (meaning you’ll always want to reach the finish line before 140 seconds has passed). There may also be another task, such as destroying a number of obstacles or using the Waverider’s abilities a few times.
