With the NBA Finals on the books, all eyes are on the offseason, which includes the upcoming draft and Summer League action. The NBA announcement Monday is the Summer League schedule for every team, including the Chicago Bulls.

The Summer League will take place at its usual home, the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. Games will be broadcast on NBA TV, ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPNU. Each team will play a minimum of five matches, including four set matches and the same tournament format as last year.

The Bulls’ 2022 Summer League schedule is as follows:

  • vs. Dallas Mavericks on July 8 at 3:00 p.m. CST on ESPNU
  • at the New York Knicks on July 10 at 4:00 p.m. CST on ESPN2
  • at the Toronto Raptors on July 12 at 4:00 p.m. CST NBA TV
  • at Charlotte Hornets on July 14 at 4:00 p.m. CST on ESPN2

Bulls Summer League Scenarios

The centerpiece of the Chicago Bulls’ 2022 Summer League campaign will be whoever they use the 18th pick on. Names such as Jalen Williams, Jalen Duren, Tari Eason and EJ Liddell have emerged as potential picks for the Bulls.

Other big names joining the Summer League roster include Patrick Williams and Ayo Dosunmu as both said they would be open to play. Williams is currently the starting striker on the depth chart but could use the extra action to gain confidence after missing most of last year through injury. Dosunmu went from a second-round pick to a Rising Star and All-Rookie Second Team selection. Summer League play represents a great opportunity for him to lead the young core and build on a strong rookie season.

The rest of the roster will be made up of undrafted players and various small-name free agents. Last year, one of those players was Alfonzo McKinnie. He eventually signed with the Bulls for a time and filled an off-the-bench role with several players out due to COVID and injuries. He appeared in 17 games, including three starters, and averaged 3.5 points per game.

Just like McKinnie did last year, other Chicago Bulls Summer League players will have the opportunity to step in and earn roster spots this time around.
